We are really proud of this set of bulls. Well over one-half the bulls are sired by just three bulls ? Sitz Alliance 431N, RR 2418 Hero 0616, and Sitz Upward 307R. We own all three bulls. Seventy-three percent (73%) of the bulls in the sale have Birth EPD less than +2.2 pounds (breed average for non-parent bulls). Over 88% are above +42 Weaning EPD (breed average) and 76% are above +77 Yearling EPD (breed average). We think this pretty clearly demonstrates that we are achieving our objective of light birth weight bulls with above breed average growth. Our cowherd continues to strengthen as we cull the outlying cattle and focus on the cows that work in this environment. Our commitment to you, our customers, is to continue to focus on obtaining the genetics to produce high growth, light birth, maternal cattle in a moderate size package. The numbers on the cattle clearly demonstrate that is the direction we are moving. One of our customers pointed out that the real strength of our cattle is maternal. He said that they got a nice "kick" in weaning weight when they started using our bulls; however, he said they got a real increase in calf weight when the daughters of the bulls started producing calves. That's what you should promote he told us. So, that is what we are telling you. We look forward to seeing all our old friends at the sale and hope to make a lot of new friends. We'll again have displays in the sale barn from some of our friends and suppliers. Plan to be with us sale day and we'll feed you a great lunch.
