  • Opening Greeting from the Owners:

Welcome to our 42nd Annual Bull Production Sale.We are proud to offer the most powerful set of bulls in the history of our ranch. You will find more extreme top end bulls - both in type and performance - than we have ever had in one sale.

Three years ago, we began selecting and testing bulls from within our herd. We were confident that we bred as powerful of a set of cows as anyone in the Angus business. We knew our program would produce herd sire prospects as good or even better than any you could buy.

You will see the results in the calves by the Hero 4166 and Hero 415 bulls. In the 40 years of performance testing cattle, we have never had a sire group impress us more than the Hero 4166 calves — 28 calves 107 WR. Also in this sale: the first calves from Sitz Alliance 431N. They are a really powerful set of calves — 81 calves 103 WR. And Hero 0616 continues to be a great bull in both herds. We thought Tracker 368 had an opportunity to be a great bull after last year and have not been disappointed. He sired the high selling sire group in our 2006 sale.

Our program is solid. We continue to use top AI sire genetics and spare no expense to purchase herd sire prospects with cowman type genetics. It was our ranch that purchased the highest selling bull in the Sitz’s 2004 Fall Sale (Sitz Alliance 431N) as well as the highest selling bull in their 2006 Spring Sale (Sitz Onward 307R). We expect to get about 150 calves from 431N and another 100 calves from 307R in this year’s calf crop. Hero 0616 was our pick (and third high selling) of over 350 bulls at the Performance Breeders 2001 Sale. We expect about 130 calves by him in this crop. Examples like these demonstrate our commitment to gathering the best genetics to produce high-growth, maternal cattle in a light to moderate birth weight and moderate size package. You will not only like these heavy muscled, high-volume bulls, you will depend on them.

We really look forward to seeing all our old friends at the sale and hope to make a lot of new ones. We’ll again have displays in the sale barn from some of our friends and suppliers. Plan to be with us sale day and we will feed you a great lunch. If you get over our way before the sale, the cattle are available any time. As always, we would love to talk cows with you.
